F. William McNabb III is the former chairman and CEO of Vanguard. Mr. McNabb joined Vanguard in 1986. In 2008, he became chief executive officer; in 2010, he became chairman of the board of directors and the board of trustees. He stepped down as chief executive officer at the end of 2017. Earlier in his career, he led each of Vanguard’s client-facing business divisions.
Mr. McNabb was appointed to the UnitedHealth Group board of directors in February 2018. He is active in the investment management industry and serves as the vice chairman of the Investment Company Institute. He also is chairman of the Zoological Society of Philadelphia, and serves on the Wharton Leadership Advisory Board and the Dartmouth Athletic Advisory Board.
Mr. McNabb earned an AB at Dartmouth College, holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and was awarded an honorary doctorate from Saint Joseph’s University.
Erin Essenmacher serves as the chief programming officer for the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), responsible for content curation, oversight and execution of more than 60 virtual and brick and mortar education programs and events a year. Essenmacher is also an award-winning writer, director, and producer with nearly 20 years of experience in broadcast and non-broadcast production. She has written, directed, and produced films for PBS, The Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, the History Channel, and Court TV, and produced and co-wrote the critically acclaimed independent documentary MINE. She is the former chair of the board of Women in Film and Video and is serves on the board of Gandhi Brigade.
Timothy A. Reese, formerly the Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (2015-2017), is a seasoned senior executive with 15 years of C-Suite experience and a combined 25 years within the finance and technology industry. A well-respected expert in the practice of investments, business strategy, and operations, Mr. Reese has operated on all sides of finance as an issuer, investor (private and public), and broker. Mr. Reese has vast experience in equity and debt financing for Reg. D and private placement offerings. He has Very Large Portfolio asset management experience, with more than $10B in funds under direct control. As a founder of businesses, Mr. Reese has sold three companies and invested in more than 15 other companies. He has been part of the technology industry revolution since the early 1990s, with relationships spanning Silicon Valley to Silicon Alley. Currently, Mr. Reese is a registered investment banker sought after for capital raise expertise (asset management and private equity) and senior adviser to private industry and state government.
Mr. Reese holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering & Electronics Technology from Temple University and was a Fellow at the Temple University Fox School of Business. Mr. Reese holds FINRA licenses Series 79 and 63.
